PROOFREADING
proofread. / (ˈpruːfˌriːd) / verb -reads, -reading or -read (-ˌrɛd) to read (copy or printer's proofs) to detect and mark errors to be corrected.
WHAT IT DOES
Proofreading is the final stage of the writing process when the paper is evaluated for mechanical correctness, such as grammar, punctuation, spelling, omitted words, repeated words, spacing and format, and typographical errors.
WHAT I DO
We all have those moments with writing where you just cannot look at it any longer. You’re missing things;,:.? Questioning things. Doubting yourself? Maybe editing to the point that it doesn’t resemble anything you started with (which isn’t a bad thing). You didn’t see the misspelled word. Spellcheck didn’t catch it either.
I can be a second set of eyes especially when you are second-guessing yourself. I have over 20 years in administrative work, a semi-finished Communications degree, and a passion for words in any format. References available upon request.
